Mark your calendars now for the upcoming Annual Meeting of the St. Barnabas Parish. It is currently set for Sunday, May 7th, immediately following the 10:00 a.m. service. An Annual Report, with updates from the Rector, Wardens, Commissions, and Committees will be available and there will be a vote held for the new Vestry Class of 2020.  Please make every effort to attend.

Mother’s Day Memorial Flowers – Deadline is May 9th

Those wishing to remember their mom, grandmom, or like-a-mom, are invited to submit names for honor or memory by Tuesday, May 9th.  Please print the names of those to be listed in our bulletin and place them with your offering in the collection plate.  A donation of $35.00 to the Altar Guild Fund is recommended. You can also send an email to or call the office on 410-489-2800 with the names and then mail your check to 13135 Forsythe Road in Sykesville, Maryland 21784.  Remember: Deadline is May 9th.


The Youth Group would like to invite all members and friends of members of St. Barnabas to join us at Willow Springs Golf Course for some practice on the driving range.  The Youth will meet at Willow Springs driving range on Sunday April 30th at 1:00 p.m. and Sunday May 21st (time TBD).  Join us at the driving range or putting green to practices our strokes for the St. Barnabas golf outing which is scheduled for June 23rd.   Willow Springs is located at 12980 Livestock Road in West Friendship, Maryland. Everyone should bring a golf club or two and funds for the driving range balls. The cost of range balls is $9.00  for a medium basket and $11.00 for a  large basket. If you don't have golf clubs, check out Play it Again Sports for used clubs. Golf Galaxy also has a big bin of used clubs for sale. Finally, if any golfers have any old clubs they'd like to donate to St. Barnabas,  this would certainly help our new golfers get started.

New Adult Forum Series to Begin on April 30th

Beginning on Sunday, April 30, and continuing through the first three weeks of May, there will be a special program on “Celtic Spirituality” for the Forum.  Topics to be covered include:  The Celtic Cross, What Is Celtic Spirituality, Irish vs Roman Branches of Christianity, St. Patrick’s Life in 400’s Ireland, St. Columba 521-597 and His Emigration to the Island of Iona, St. Aidan 590-651 From Iona to Lindisfarne, St. Hilda of Whitby 614-680, St. Cuthbert 635-687, The Synod of Whitby in 664, and What Celtic Spirituality Can Mean for Us Today.

Annual Hymn Sing on April 30th

E.S.C.A.P.E. Ministries, Inc. will hold their 25th Annual Ecumenical Hymn Sing on Sunday, April 30th, 2:00 PM, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Sykesville.  Many of the member Churches are participating along with the Masterworks Chorale of Carroll County.  There will be a free will offering to help support emergency assistance provided by E.S.C.A.P. E. Ministries.
