Welcome to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church located in Sykesville, MD! We are a parish of the Episcopal Church’s Diocese of Maryland and are part of the world-wide Anglican Communion. Our Sunday services are the Holy Eucharist, where we celebrate weekly Jesus’ own gift of himself to us through bread and wine. We loving having visitors–children are always welcome here–and we would be delighted to see you on Sunday morning! Our 8 AM service uses the traditional language services from the Book of Common Prayer (Rite I). This language is majestic, transcendent, yet still easy to understand. Our 10 AM service uses the contemporary language services from the Book of Common Prayer (Rite II). It is modern and updated yet has deep ties to our past. Read more about worship at St. Barnabas here. During the summer we switch to one service at 9 a.m. (with music) followed by coffee hour held outside the church doors. We will use Rite one for the first half of the summer and Rite II the second half.
Live Streaming of Services has come to St. Barnabas. Watch our service at 9 a.m. (or later) on our St. Barnabas You Tube Channel (if you cannot make it in person).
